Do you have any TIPS or TRICKS for working with your horse? Giving him/her medicine? Working around the barn or maybe even some training you do. Something you like, don’t like at a show or the fair. Use “The Hitching Post” and start a conversation on the bulletin board.... Maybe something you would like to see HAC do.

4-H Community Service:
May 10th 10am–3pm, 330 King St. Littleton

It is time once again for 4-H to show appreciation and perform this much needed annual community service for the Littleton Congregational United Church which has been generously letting us use their facility FREE of charge to hold numerous meetings and events. The church has again requested our assistance on their spring clean up day doing projects such as raking, planting flowers, some painting, cleaning windows and walls. Lending a hand would be a great way to show how 4-H can “Make the Best Better”! It would be greatly appreciated if leaders, parents and members can make every effort possible to help out on this day as a way for us to say “Thank you”. It would be further appreciated if you could send Dee Raftery an email at draftery143@comcast.net and let her know if you can make it for all or part of the day so that she can provide the church with the number of volunteers 4-H will be sending.

2008 Regional Horse Show

Driving Clinic in Berlin Ma.
Hi, My name is Kate Bushman, and I am the current president of the Massachusetts Carraige & Driving organization - we are the MA regional division of the American Driving Society (ADS). We have about 50 members across the state, with the largest concentration in and around Middlesex and Worcester county. Our mission is to promote camaraderie, fun and education in the sport of carriage driving.
Please see the attached ADS newsletter. Page 4 mentions that May is National Carriage & Driving month. On Saturday 5/24, our club will be holding a clinic in Berlin, MA with Vivian Creigh, a respected naitonal competitor in carriage driving. Members will be bringing their horses for individual 1 hour lessons, and we'd like to invite any interested horse clubs to come by an audit the clinic for free. We also would consider if a 4-H member has a horse that currently drives, and wants to participate in the clinic. The only thing we'd ask is to know in advance if a club is planning on visiting that day (or wanting to take a lesson).
I'm the best person to arrange through. My email is
kate4055@yahoo.com, or home phone is (508) 869-6129. We hope this is interesting and look forward to seeing folks in May!

Regards
-Kate B
